Design and Display

The smartphone is built using a metal uni-body design with metal at the back and the sides and 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla Glass at the top. The front packs in a decent 6.26 inch 19:9 IPS notched display at a Full HD+ resolution at 1080 x 2280 pixels. The front side sports the earpiece, sensors and the front facing camera. The rear packs the dual rear cameras in vertical orientation, the fingerprint scanner and Mi branding along with the antenna bands. The top houses the IR sensor and the noise cancelling microphone. The bottom part consists of the Micro-USB charging port, bottom firing speaker and the primary microphone. The right side packs the volume rocker and power button while the left side houses an Hybrid slot(nanoSIM + nanoSIM/microSD). It measures 157.9 x 76.4 x 8.26 mm and weighs 182 grams.

Processor and Specifications

All variants packs in the same Snapdragon 636 SoC based on 14nm FinFET process of manufacturing. The Adreno 509 GPU takes care of the graphics intensive duties. There are two available RAM/Storage configurations available at 4/64 GB and 6/64 GB models. Its runs on MIUI 10 out of the box.

Cameras

The front packs a dual camera setup with the primary sensor being 20MP selfie shooter with f/2.0 aperture and the secondary sensor being a 2MP f/2.2 depth sensor for AI Portrait Selfie. The rear packs dual rear cameras with the primary shooter being a 12MP f/1.9 aperture sensor with dual pixel AutoFocus and single tone Dual LED flash and a secondary 5MP f/2.2 aperture depth sensor. The front camera is capable of face unlock which a norm these days for all Android Phones. The rear camera has Dynamic Bokeh, HDR, Panorama mode, Burst Mode, AI Studio Lighting etc. EIS is provided for video recording.

Battery

To keep running this smartphone, a huge 4,000 mAh battery is provided which in our opinion can last a complete day at moderate to heavy usage. The smartphone is charged using the Micro-USB Port at the bottom using a 5V/2A (10W) adapter provided in the box while the phone does support Quick Charge 3.0 but one has to buy a separate adapter for this.

Connectivity options include Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, IR Blaster and Micro-USB port with no Headphone Jack. The colour options include Rose Gold, Blue and Black. The Redmi Note 6 Pro with 4GB RAM is priced at  ₹ 13,999 and and 6GB variant at  ₹ 15,999 respectively.
