Design and Display


The smartphone is built using a plastic back with a highly glossy finish giving it a look of a glass back. The front packs in a 6.26 inch notched IPS display at a Full HD+ resolution and having an aspect ratio of 19:9. There is also Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection at the top, which the company claims to be first among the affordable smartphones arena. The notch houses the front camera, earpiece, front facing flash and other sensors. At the top we have the secondary microphone while at the bottom we have an Micro-USB port for charging along with the primary microphone, headphone jack and loudspeaker grill holes. At the right side we have the power button and volume rockers while at the left we have a tray having 3 slots. 2 slots are for dual sim capability while the 3rd slot is for a dedicated Micro SD card.


Processor and Specifications


All variants packs in the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset which is a higher mid-range chip but is becoming a dated chipset for mobiles. There are three available RAM/Storage configurations at 3/32 GB , 4/64 GB and 6/64 GB. Its runs on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box with stock Android as its base and only the camera app is a custom Asus app in the phone. According to the company's announcement, the Pie update for the Pro M2 will be released in January 2019.




The front packs a 13MP camera for taking selfies and video calls. The rear packs dual rear cameras with 12MP f/1.8 + 5MP lens combination with the secondary camera being a depth sensor. All the AI features like scene recognition will be available following an update later this year. The phone also supports face unlock.




To keep the phone running, it has a mammoth 5,000 mAh battery like its predecessor ,which will last through a full day and is charged using the Micro-USB Port at the bottom using a charger having a power rating of 10W.


Connectivity and Pricing


Connectivity options include dual-SIM dual-VoLTE standby, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, Micro-USB port and the 3.5mm audio jack. The ZenFone Max Pro M2 is priced at Rs. 12,999 for the 3/32 GB variant, Rs. 14,999 for the 4/64 GB variant and Rs. 16,999 for the 6/64 GB variant. It will be available in two colours - Blue and Titanium.
